I have only used a stock C5, stock C6, Hurst, and the MGW shifters but out of them my preference is the MGW - and by a far margin.

I guess they are getting complaints from Z06 owners about buzzing/rattling with the OEM shifter (I was not getting any until I put in the MGW) and the solution is to go with the C6 shifter box. The "Flat Stick" has a small collar that locks the ball to the brass thread they epoxy into the ball in whatever direction desired. They supply a special wrench to tighten in the shifter kit. But IMO a large round shape like a 2 1/4 inch diameter cue ball size helps especially with my often used 4th to 7th shift.
