About 4 months ago I asked Robert to build me a tuner for the big rig. Well.. You guys can guess how that went. paid him and still no tuner. Time to build my own. I dug around and found three coils. This is the smaller of the three. It says 200-206 johnson on it. Will this work for the k1jj style tuner? Whats the best way to attach the smaller "input" coil to the main coil? Functionally, I know I could just wind the wire right over the copper coil, (especially since at present I'd only be running a dx-60 into it) but I've got a little bit of "vintage" hardware, and I'm making an attempt to have this thing look as old-buzzardly as possible.

The tuner is just a single section variable - floating. It is across a 40 turn copper tubing coil. There is a 5 turn 50 ohm link wound inside or outside the big coil that connects to the rig and goes to ground.
