Really there are 3 main things that cause issues with the sliding doors in this gen (and really other gens as well): the center roller, the rear latch, or the power release actuator. 90% of the time the problem is one or more of those things.The assembly comes complete with pushbuttons for opening both doors from the drivers position. It costs about $30 from a Honda parts dealer online. Takes 5 -10 minutes to put in max. The interior of the on/off switch assembly is extremely cheaply made, leading to intermittent sliding door operation.

I just noticed today that my passenger side sliding door will not unlock all doors when touching the handle (key fob in pocket). I tried it with the "Child safety lock" on and off. All other doors do open as soon as my hand touches the handle.
