I think every game should go by Bloodborne philosophy of dodging. Except you couldn’t be as quick in heavier armor. Quickstep has more iframes than roll and roll has more iframes than BB sidestep so it's not entirely bb philosophy, also ER quickstep was nerfed and now it has a follow up in form of backstep attack.

Honestly the only real reason is that you can get it very early so you can use it until you get bloodhound step. Or if you use a weapon that's extremely short like a dagger or claw I guess since quickstep is shorter so you won't get out of attacking range. once you are out of range and have a greatbow/golem arrows equipped, even if they land the glitch you can knock them out of it, and once youve knocked them down, you can load another arrow and hit them much, much faster than they will be able to set up the swap again.
