I'm curious what kind of composition do you guys run within your respective factions? Myself playing as battania I had like a 40% Archers 50% Footmen 10% Cav mix. 100% cavalry, just love me some madness of 70+ cavalry just blindly charging in XD. It feels SO good to charge together with them. #9.

The best battanian infantry is non-battanian infantry. Run around hiring empire troops if you're at peace, and take them prisoner if you are at war. Infantry only is perfectly viable provided you make sure you keep enough mounts in your inventory to keep your speed up, too many will slow you down so about 1 per soldier does the trick. Sturgian heavy spear and axe infantry are apparently the best in the game but vlandian is apparently the worst. With battanian fians so close by, it's easy to selectively go around scooping them up off battanian castles. The sturgian varags, spearmen, and line breakers are a magnificent infantry line up.
