I think the mono mix of Rubber Soul is the way to go for that album, even though "Michelle" sounds pretty lousy. The original stereo mix has some balance issues regarding the volume of the instruments relative to the voices, plus the awkward panning. The remix retains most of the poor panning decisions and adds unnecessary reverb.

Unfortunately most (if not all) are out of print and difficult to get hold of.
