Instructions. Start by giving the Hatch chiles and tomatoes a good rinse. Roast the tomatoes and chiles in a 400F oven for 20-30 minutes. De-stem and de-seed the roasted chiles. Then thoroughly rinse the chiles, pat dry and place chiles in a single layer on a large baking or cookie sheet. Place the baking sheet on the upper oven rack or close to the broiler. Broil or roast for about 8 minutes then check on them.Roasting and Peeling Steps: Wash peppers throughly under cold water and then pat dry with a towel. Roast peppers for 4-5 minutes on constant flame (we recommend using a propane grill) until skin is roasted evenly on all sides.
