A limited number of individual soft-paste porcelain objects were made. Porcelain was not produced again in Italy until the early eighteenth century. The Marchese Carlo Ginori (1702–1757) began making porcelain at Doccia in Florence in 1737, assisted by two Du Paquier employees. The manufactory still operates today.
