What I think I know for sure is it's on a L1A1 lower with an inch bolt and bolt carrier and the upper is a SAC import from the 90's with the import mark in the magwell. The serial number on the barrel matches the receiver and there is a small x looking mark at the bottom of the barrel under the handguards.

Frankly, the A2 sight was designed as an accomodation to a pre-existing receiver configuration. Hence, the ability to use a big hidden vertical shaft.
