To get the thing to shut up I left the fuses out. On the gauge panel it says "check engine - P 1656" which is the trouble code for a short. My best guess it the actual DESS key plug on the ski (not the lanyard key) is faulty. I traced all of the wires and did not find any bad connections, water or corrosion. Any suggestions would be a big help.
