I think they should be increased 50% from where they are now for the shotgun at least. I read a lot about guns being basically a suicide dinner bell, tried the game with MP and yeah, zombies that are really pretty damn close are not reacting at all to the shotgun, and it's definitely not a 100 tile range, it's more like half of that.

True, but slightly off. The weapon durability system is kinda weird. All weapons have the same max durabilty (weapon health/hp). The difference lies in how often the durability decreases and how much weapon hp is lost. IIRC the game makes 2 calculations: whether the weapon loses durability or not. Some weapons have a higher chance then others.
