Also, like Kilerham, my understanding is that the Mohawk 48s were made up from parts left after the discontinuation of the 11-48 and Sportsman 48. Chuck the brush in an electric drill and spin and low to moderate speed. Let it cool and polish some more. Then put some light gun oil on some new steel wool and run the drill some more. It is a recoil shot gun make sure that the friction ring is not wore bad and mag tube has a light light coat of oil. Also make sure that the recoil spring is flat on each end that can make the ring go sideways and not cycle action fully.
