Ranger differential problems. I have a 2011 Ranger 800XP. It has 740 miles on it and I was driving down a dirt trail in 2-wheel drive mode and all 4 wheels started to fight each other. It appears that the front differential was locked up and with the added resistance the rear wheels were essentially pushing them along.

Jul 5, 2015 · I have recharged the batt (13.2v). I checked the ac volts from the stator and in a nutshell at 1000rpm 19.6v, 3000rpm 45v and 5000rpm 74v. So it now points to the regulator. Now to contact Polaris and see if they will repair under goodwill as my ranger is 10 moths old and only 890 km (550 mi) Crossing my fingers!!

Another option , tap into the two wires on the brake switch and run wires up to the dashboard and install a pushbtton { N.O. contacts } , just press the button when starting , problem solved permanently . #20 wire will be large enough . It will idle just fine but when I push the throttle it just bogs and wont rev up. One thing is you don't put a 20 amp fuse in a 10amp spot because a fuse is a circuit Protector and puting a 20 in a 10 would damage whatever is on that circuit.
