The fore end rattles, but about the same as any other pump gun , that's just how they are. This again.. hmm. Said it many times; I own both a Mossberg 500 and a 870 and the 870 is a much better gun. Few things have been mentioned, like the position of the safety on the 500 is kind of bad.
