Don't download too many to avoid conflicts, however if there will be conflicts the server console will tell you immediately, so no big deal, at worst one mod will override another one's variable if you miss something in the configs. If you are not using any mods, I'd suggest Bread & Butter, or perhaps Fin's AI Tweaks.
