Strangely, one of the better things to specialize in is kinetic blade. It requires only one feat to be good at, weapon finesse. I've gone through 2 and a half chapters now with Ember at 0/4 burn and it's starting to irritate me. Whenever I try to use an infusion or whatever, it doesn't let me because she doesn't have the burn to do so, so it's not like it's applied automatically. Gather power does ... Wrack. I love kineticist, but the class is very much a B tier class unless you take Deadly Earth and then win forever without trying. You just described like 95% of all the classes lol.
