I am assuming the exhaust heat is being transferred to the fuel by the metal of the petcock. Here's the quick and dirty. Halfway cleaning the carb or skipping cleaning part of it is the same thing as not cleaning it at all. 1) Completely disassemble the carb. 2) Clean everything with carb cleaner, every jet, every orifice, every passage. 3) Blow everything out with compressed air.

I even brought it to the honda shop and they replaced the needle valve and it still leaks. I also changed the fuel valve that turns the gas on, off and reserve.
