I should mentioned, the first time it happened, the van was sluggish, I turned it off and restarted it and it seemed better but not perfect. Jul 1, 2015 · I got the flashing D while on a road trip in North Dakota. I stopped by a local AutoZone and they were able to pull the code (P1740) for me and it was for a failed 4th gear switch. Not sure why your OBD reader is not picking it up. A Honda dealer in Rushmore South Dakota replaced it for me for about $160. The part alone is about $65

Probably 3rd or 4th gear pressure switch. The flashiing D resets itself when you shut the vehicle off. A code will have been stored though. Our first flashing D indicator tripped once and then it didn't trip again until 3 months later where it would trip once a day. It was the 3rg gear switch. Like.
