Often age kills Vulcans long before mileage does. Metal corrodes, rubber rots, etc. No manufacturer can really correct those things. Certain models of the 1500 had a plastic oil gear that was prone to failure. The Vulcan 750, though beloved by it's owners, is a basket case of common problems. Try taking the video outside so it isn't picking up reverb and echo. If it sounds that bad outside, no it isn't normal. That sounds like bad exhaust leak or a straight up rod knock. The rockers aren't adjustable, the lash is set by shims and they get tighter over time.A couple things that'll wake up the 800 I've done are to debaffle the stock pipes, and Grampsized the air filter housing, see link below. Great tips on here. Proper jetting needs done along with these mods. The 18/40 spockets really change the way this bike accerates, makes the gears stretchout more. That a great site.

There are two points, middle and back, where the seat slides under other parts of the frame. The seat removes by unlocking (when you have a lock, of course), lifting up on the front about 1 to 1-1/2 inches, then pulling forward. A cable runs underneath the fender and into the frame up to the latch.

I went from an older Electra Glide to this one, and it IS bigger. And what a difference in power. If you like the 1500, you will love the 2000.The Suzuki has no tachometer, but it feels like it revs out to about 5000 rpm before signing off, while the heavier-by-50-lbs fully loaded Kawasaki's tach shows the redline at 8500 rpm. I had a 1982 GS750TZ for many years, and it would really fly, but the 2006 Suzuki 800 feels like it really flies, too.

The 95 and 96 models had a higher 1st and 2nd gear ratio than all others I believe.
