Aug 24, 2020 · I have a 2012 jku, I've been battling overheating for a while with it. Let me give some quick details. Living in colorado at 7000 foot, traveling often in the 8-12k range. Have replaced radiator, water pump, rad cap x3, thermostat x2, and done full system flush, fill, burp. Passed compression and cooling system pressure test last round.

A lot of us (including myself) don't really like seeing the numbers so high, but there's no choice but to accept that the engineers designed the engine to operate at this temperature range.

When you hit that downhill the heavy load is gone and it will cool right off. Go to your local Napa and ask for a block checker.

The thermostat did something wonky about a month ago, reading only 165* while we were on the highway doing 70mph. I assumed the PO installed a lower * thermostat and purchased a Stant 195*. Then the Jeep was running 210*, so we put off installing it. Then the overheating incident occurred.
