With 8.4 you should only install mods manually, no Vortex. depends on what version of the game you are playing, if you are playing the u8.4 beta you have no choice but to manually install which is not a permanent thing. if you are using u8.3 as long as the mod is for that version 9/10 times installing with vortex works fine.
