Failing nclex in 85 questions.
Jul 23, 2008. I took the NCLEX-PN yesterday and only had 85 questions. It was much harder than I had expected. I studied everything that the ATI test told me I needed extra help on and still don't feel very comfortable. Everything I studied in my NCLEX book and CD seemed very redundant and I was getting the majority right.
As many others who have taken the NGN have mentioned, NCLEX questions are extremely vague in comparison to some study materials out there, particularly UWorld. Speaking of UWorld, I used about 70% of the QBank with varying practice test scores between 40-70%. Don't overthink the questions. The NCLEX exam is a test of entry-level knowledge necessary to be a nurse. Therefore, it is important not to look for hidden meaning in the questions. The questions will test your basic knowledge or your ability to use critical thinking skills. Read the questions carefully, but don't overthink them. Look for ...I had a average of 70 % in total. I would occasionally get 80s on my exams but I mostly stayed within the high 60s and 70s. I took the diagnostic assessment one week before the nclex and I got very high chances of passing. According to the NCSBN (1) the minimum number of questions is 85 (includes 15 non-scored questions). the maximum number of questions is 150 (includes 15 non-scored questions) non-scored questions are dispersed throughout the test. non-scored questions are not labeled as such. the total test time is 5 hours.

To me, the NCLEX felt like I was working the Bootcamp case studies. I took the test with 3 other people from my class they got 85 questions, no math for them either. They all passed!!!
