A new version of the os was just released a few days ago. I'm not sure if I encountered the same issue before but got it fixed after change the volume in the sound settings. Press Start and go to the sound settings and see if your volume is at 0%. Once you increased the volume, the sound should work fine after that.

With Arkos sometimes a crash would boot to a black screen and not recover until I booted with a Jelos SD card. Fucking weird.
