The ecodiesel was placed into the 1/2 ton platforms for one reason, fuel economy. That's it. GM put the 350 olds into their cars and pickups to boost fuel mileage and it worked. Same with the 6.2 and 6.5 engines in the 1/2 ton platforms.

IMO your adding heat/stress to the exchanger increasing your risk of failure, Coolant leak. New member here and looking to buy a 2020 1500. Currently have an F-150 Lariat, but was overwhelmingly impressed with how RAM has improved in the past few years. Handsome exteriors with the best interior fit & finish I've seen in any truck, ever. Joined the forum in hopes of getting real world comments and advice from owners.

The heater block plug is under the hood (facing the truck) near the back left fender well by the coolant tank.
