3. Mar 16, 2015. #1. I have a 2006 mercury 60 hp 4 stroke that has an intermittent no start. Sometimes it will start and run fine. Sometimes it will start then shut off. I have been experiencing the exact same issue. Well, I just figured it out and now it steers real easy. There is a screw on the starboard side of the pivot housing. Back that screw out about 1/4 turn and see if that's it. That's a ease of steering adjustment, I guess. I hope that solves your problem.

I have a 2001 60 HP 4 stroke 4 cylinder that is carbureted. On the water hose it runs fine idle on through close to 6K rpm, put it gear on the hose runs fine idle to almost 6K. At the lake idles fine, in 5mph zone its fine, after 3K rpm it bogs and wants to stall.
