No 243s or 799 have the casting defect that I've heard, it was pretty isolated to the castech only 706's on gen III 4.8/5.3's. There are 2 other sets of 706's that are not affected. The early sand cast heads come as 862s and 706's, and a die cast 706 that isn't made by castech. 16 posts.

So, if you mill .030", then you will have shaved 5cc off the combustion chamber. I'm running .030" milled LS3s on a 404 stroker. The factory LS3 chamber is 69.8cc.Fits.
